What is a cell?
A cell is the basic unit of all living organisms. They are the building blocks of living organisms.
Some organisms such as bacteria, are made up of only one cell, these are called unicellular organisms. Other organisms such as human being and trees, are made up of many cells, they are called multicellular organisms.
Cells contain cytoplasm and organelles. The cytoplasm is a living, jelly-like substance in which the organelles are found.
The organelles in the cytoplasm carry out special functions inside the cell. Examples of organelles include nucleus, chloroplasts and mitochondria.
